McQuarrie, William Hunter, ca. 1865-1944 : William Hunter McQuarrie of Russell, Ont. enlisted in the North West Mounted Police in 1882. After nine years service, largely in the Canadian West, he retired as Constable. Following this, McQuarrie spent approximately 35 years with the Ottawa Electric Railways.
