Fonds consists of correspondence, notes, memoranda, and manuscripts in Yiddish dealing with family and halachic matters, the World Mizrachi Movement, and the relief of Jewish War Victims in World War I, n.d., 1909-1927. The Register, and other documents of the Ohel Oholem Congregation, Quebec City, Que., n.d., 1914-1918, are also available.

Crestohl, Hyman Meyer, 1865-1928 : Rabbi Crestohl, born in Poland, obtained his micha by noted Rabbis, including the Chief Rabbi of Warsaw. He served as Rabbi of Siedlice, Poland, and in 1904, served as emissary of Mizrachi in the United States, before immigrating to Canada in 1911. He served as Rabbi of Quebec City from 1911 to 1919, and established the First Quebec Zionist Society. In 1919, he moved to Montreal and became Rabbi of Hadrath-Kodesh Congregation.

He was the first President of the Mizrachi Organization of Canada and was a member of the Zionist Organization of Canada National Council. His son, Leon Crestohl, was elected to the House of Commons.
