Collection consists of letters discussing literary works and a manuscript of the short story "A Night Encounter" by Roberts.

Collection also includes a sound recording of a poem of by Lloyd Roberts, member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and brother of Charles George Douglas Roberts. The poem intitled Remember Pearl Harbor is read by Henry Falk.

Roberts, Charles G. D. (Charles George Douglas), 1860-1943 : Sir Charles G.D. Roberts, poet and author, was born in New Brunswick, a brother of Theodore Goodridge Roberts and cousin of Bliss Carman. Like Carman, Roberts was educated in Fredericton by Sir George R. Parkin and continued his studies at the University of New Brunswick. After three years as headmaster of Chatham Grammar School, Robert moved to Toronto to become editor of Goldwin Smith's journal, The Week. He returned to the Maritimes and began a ten year association with King's College, Windsor, N.S. as professor of English literature. From 1897 to 1925, Roberts lived largely outside Canada working in journalism in New York City, travelling widely, working and serving in the British and Canadian forces in World War I. He returned to Canada in 1925 and died in Toronto, Ont.
