Fonds consists of correspondence including personal letters from such CBC colleagues as, Dorthea Cox, Ruth Harvey, Margaret Howes, Catherine McIver, Marjorie McEnaney and Margery Hinds, and a few letters relating to the establishment of the Lady Aberdeen Memorial Library at the University of Waterloo, 1936, 1956-1971, 4 cm; and miscellaneous papers including several newspaper clippings relating to female CBC personalities, and the Canadian sculptors, Francis Loring and Florence Wyle, and a finding aid to the Elizabeth Long papers at the University of Waterloo, 1969-1971, 1 cm.

Long, Elizabeth, b. 1891 : Elizabeth Long was a journalist in western Canada for several years prior to joining the CBC in 1938. She was the first woman to hold an important executive position with the CBC. Miss Long has been vice-president of both the National and the International Council of Women, presided over the first National Radio Conference for Women Broadcasters, 1944, represented Canada at many international conferences, and in 1947, was elected world convenor of broadcasting, International Council of Women.
