Fonds consists of letters written by Agar Adamson to his wife during the South African War, 1900-1902, and World War I, 1914-1919, with some related memoranda; letters from Jim Smellie to Agar Adamson, 1889-1890.

Fonds also contains photographs of football and hockey teams, Ottawa, Ontario, ca. 1885; a skating party at Rideau Hall, Ottawa, Ontario, 1890's; men and women, possibly on Government House grounds, Ottawa, Ontario; ladies of Ottawa, Ontario; portrait of Capt. (later Lt. Col.) Agar Adamson; portrait of W.S. Sparkes, by Topley; the activities of Agar Adamson and friends during a canoe trip in Algonquin Park, Ont., ca. 1890-1919; Princess Patricia inspecting Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in England, 1918; the return to Ottawa of the P.P.C.L.I., 1919, and officers of Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, 1914.
