Item is a document entitled "Memorandum of events in the life of Robert Wallace". The memorandum primarily relates information about Wallace's participation in the child immigration movement from Great Britain, and a missionary voyage to China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand which he undertook with his wife, Ellen Bilbrough, in 1896-1897.

Wallace, Robert, 1855-1932 : Robert Wallace, born in 1855 near Edinburgh Scotland, was educated at Spurgeon's College in Great Britain. Dr. Wallace became a preacher for the Evangelisation Society of London, England in 1882. He also came to Canada in 1882 and began work at the Marchmont Home for immigrant children in Belleville, Ont. He was treasurer in the Toronto Office of the China Inland Mission from 1914 to 1929. He married Ellen A. Bilbrough in 1887. Wallace was active in the prohibition movement, overseas missionary work and child welfare programs.
