Peck, Cyrus Wesley, 1871-1956 : Cyrus Wesley Peck, military officer and politician, born in 1871 at Hopewell Hill, N.B., went to Westminister, B.C., in 1883. During World War I, he served overseas as Lieutenant-Colonel commanding the 16th Battalion, Canadian Scottish Regiment in France and Belgium. He was awarded the D.S.O. and the Bar in 1917 and received the Victoria Cross in 1918. He sat as a Unionist member of the House of Commons for Skeena from 1917 to 1921 and was a member of the British Columbia legislature from 1924 to 1933. He was appointed to Pension Tribunal, 1930, and the Canadian Pension Commission.

He had also served as aide-de-camp to Lords Byng and Tweedsmuir, Governors General of Canada.
