Fonds consists of souvenirs of the Prisoner of War camp at Stendhal, Germany, including issues of prison publications and programmes for entertainment performed by the prisoners. Also included are samples of German prison currency used in Stendal and Gardelegen and an issue, 1917, of The Great Anti-Northcliffe Mail, a newspaper published in Switzerland. The currency consists of 14 notes, one from 1914 and the remaining notes, from 1916. The fonds also contains photographs depicting views of the camp at Stendhal, 1915-1918, and portraits of prisoners.

Meekren, R. J : R.J. Meekren, a private with the Canadian Expeditionary Force, spent much of World War I in the German prison camp Stendal where he became president of the Literary and Debating Society.
