Fonds consists of correspondence from listeners to Curry's programs, clippings related to the "Sweet Hour of Prayer", scripts for the "Sweet Hour of Prayer" for 1938, 1943 and 1957 and for "It is Written" for 1971 and "Compiled Poetry", material gathered from 1950 onward for use on the "Sweet Hour of Prayer" broadcast.

The fonds also contains photographs, ca. 1920-1938, depicting activities of Winston Curry on the CBC radio program "Sweet Hour of Prayer", Montreal, Que.; portraits of Winston Curry at various ages, including at least one by Studio Jac-Guy.

Also included are sound recordings, 1944-1962, of radio programs featuring Curry.

Curry, Winston, 1914- : Winston Curry, gospel singer, religious broadcaster, born Winston Curry Cogswell in 1914 at Port Williams, N.S., began singing over the radio during the 1920s and early 1930 in Halifax, Montreal and New York. He was best known for his long association with the CBC radio program "Sweet Hour of Prayer". Curry sang hyms and read poetry on this program which ran from May 1938 to April 1959. Soon after its termination in 1959 Curry hosted a new religious broadcast known as "It is Written". It was aired twice daily, six days a week, before, the 6:00 a.m. and after the 1:00 a.m. news on CMB Montreal.
