Biography/Administrative history:

Bereskin, Abraham, 1903-1997 : Abraham Bereskin, engineer and surveyor, was born in Propoisk, Russia and immigrated with his family to Winnipeg in 1905 to escape anti-semitic persecution. In 1929, he graduated in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba and began a surveying career. He served in W.W. II and was Controller of Surveys, Province of Saskatchewan from 1946 to 1968. Upon his retirement in 1968, he and his wife immigrated to Israel, where he worked on pollution and water supply until returning to Canada in 1975.
