Fonds consists of correspondence and memoranda relating to Murray Tapper's community activities on behalf of the Jewish National Fund of Canada, the United Jewish Appeal-United Israel Appeal, the Jewish Welfare Fund of Winnipeg, and the Bar Ilan University of Tel Aviv. The fonds also contains photographs of a presentation of a prize to Nathan Steinberg at a dinner in his honour, Bar Ilan University, Tel Aviv, Israel, [ca. 1965].

Tapper, Murray Harvey, 1929-1991 : Murray H. Tapper was born and educated in Winnipeg, Man. He received his L.L.B. degree from the University of Manitoba Law School in 1954. He was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1956 and practised law in partnership with Walsh Micay and Company of Winnipeg until 1973. He then established his own firm, Tapper Namak Levine. At the time of his death he was general counsel to the firm of Wolch, Pinx, Tapper and Scurfield. Murray Tapper was active in Western Canadian and National Zionist activities during the sixties and seventies. He served as national vice-chairman of the Histadrut Campaign, national vice-president of the Jewish National Fund of Canada, and deputy president of the United Jewish Appeal-United Israel Appeal for Western Canada. He was the Winnipeg Negev Dinner Honoree in 1978.
