Fonds consists of correspondence and memoranda, largely between Andrew Paull and Ben Alexander of the Shuswap Band (Secwepemc). Subjects covered include: relief for Indigenous people in the Depresssion, enfranchisement, pensions, education, and revisions of the Indian Act. Much of the correspondence pertains to the Confederacy of the Interior tribes of British Columbia and to matters of great concern, such as water and grazing rights. Other correspondence concerns funding of Andrew Paull's trips to Ottawa to represent Indigenous concerns, and his attendance at conferences. A copy of "The Thunderbird" for January 1950 is available in the papers.

Paull, Andrew, 1892-1959 : Andrew Paull was a Squamish Band leader in the Vancouver area. He was born into a prominent family in the Durieu system at Mission Reserve No. 1, Burrard Inlet and educated at the reserve school. He worked as a longshoreman and briefly operated a service station in Seattle, Washington. Paull was Secretary of his Band. He served as interpreter for the royal commission of 1913 to 1916. He was an executive member of the Allied Tribes of British Columbia and testified before Parliament in Ottawa, in 1927. During the 1930s, he was Secretary of the Progressive Native Tribes of British Columbia.

In 1942, he joined the Native Brotherhood of British Columbia and served as its business representative. In 1945, he broke with the Brotherhood and formed the North American Indian Brotherhood. He testified before parliamentary committees numerous times on Indian Act revisions. Paull attended numerous conferences as President of the Brotherhood. He was editor of the periodical The Thunderbird.
