The certificates were granted by the Public Schools of Newfoundland under Methodist Boards and the Council of Higher Education, Newfoundland. The certificates bear annotations with autobiographical information for the period 1901-1914.
The fonds also includes photographs (ca. 1910), depicting residents and views of: Twillingate Harbour and Port Blandford, Nfld.; Victor S. McKinnon, aged 10 months; school group; missionary John Hurst; Frank R. Wheeler family, engraver; Annie Wheeler.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Wheeler, Annie, 1883-1948 : Annie Wheeler, teacher, a native of Twillingate, Nfld., began studies for a career in teaching ca. 1899 and in August 1901 began her teaching career at Little Harbour - Twillingate. Wheeler subsequently taught in several communities in Newfoundland during the period 1901-1911, and also in Carmichael, Saskatchewan during 1913.
