Fonds consists of scrapbooks containing correspondence, drafts of articles, newspaper clippings, and poems. Much of the material relates to Young's research concerning railways and Western Canada. In particular, his research subjects include the names of mountains, exploration, experiences of early settlers, the fur trade and gold rushes.

Young, Thomas Charles, b. 1870 : Thomas C. Young was a locomotive engineer at Lucerne, B.C., and Jasper, Alta., 1915-1935. He was also a poet and a writer, whose subjects ranged from natural history to Canadian folklore.
