Fonds consists fonds of certificates and diplomas given to Lilian Scott by the Convent of Ottawa, the Young Ladies Literary Institute of Notre-Dame du Sacré-Coeur and the Provincial Art School. It contains several articles (manuscripts, typescripts or published version) of articles and speeches written by Lilian Scott Desbarats and published in different periodicals. Among others, "I was on a ship that sank in 8 minutes", "The Elizabeth Residence. Reminiscence of 274 Daly Avenue", [Toast to sister Teresa, The first mother Superior of this Convent], "The Irish Settlers of Bytown and Early Ottawa", "My Recollections of Laurier House", "Chapel Court", "Forty Seven Daly, Avenue, the Union Mission for Men", "Sir John Macdonald Gave Earnscliffe Its Name", which appeared in the Ottawa Journal, "Presentation of Charlotte Whitton", "Mrs Desbarats recent trip to Italy", "The Pioneer Women of French Canada", "West Indies, Spanish Main, Panama Canal", "Our trip to the West in 1937", "Some old houses on the St. Lawrence River", "The Irish Settlers of Bytown and early Ottawa", "Thomas D'Arcy McGee", "What I have heard of the murder of Thomas d'Arcy McGee", "Thinking back on Iroquois", etc.
It also contains correspondence received by Lilian Scott Desbarats from Lady Ishbel Aberdeen, wife of the Governor General and president of the International Council for Women (1893-1936) and the Canadian Council of Women (1893-1899), Lord Minto, eight Governor General of Canada from 1898-1904, Wilfrid Laurier, Prime Minister of Canada, Gwendolyn Tellier, spouse of Joseph Mathias Tellier, conservative party leader, mayor of Joliette and chief of Justice of Quebec, Mr and Mrs James Layton Ralston, lawyer, soldier and minister of National Defense, R. B. Bennet and W. L. Mackenzie King, Prime Ministers of Canada, John Heane, High Commissioner for Ireland, Charlotte Whitton, mayor of Ottawa and J. T. Horau, mayor of Prescott.
This addition also contains invitations, menus and one photo album illustrating the launching ceremony of the Canadian torpedo boat destroyer Saguenay, a life member certificate of the Ottawa Local Council of Women, programmes of the National Liberal Federation of Canada, documents about her election as first life member of the Historical Society of Ottawa and press clippings
Finally, this addition contains a scrapbook compiled by Lilian Scott Desbarats from her wedding (May 17 1898) to her husband's death (1944) which contains press clipping, programmes and invitations, and a file concerning the George J. Desbarats funeral.
