Trinity House (corporation) : Trinity House was established in 1805 for the "better regulation of pilots and shipping in the port of Quebec and in the harbours of Quebec and Montreal, and for establishing a fund for decayed pilots, their widows and children". The Corporation continued in existence until 1875 when its functions were taken over by the Department of Marine and Fisheries.
