Fonds consists of the papers of Reginald Thornton relating to his tour of Australia and Canada in 1928, including a diary of section IV, 11 Nov., to 8 Dec., 1928, which covers tours in Canada, and concerns Thornton's talks with politicians and employers in major cities from Vancouver to Montreal. The fonds also consists of correspondence, 1926-1928, with wife, Barbara Thornton, containing comments on the Big Brother Movement; letters of introduction, July 1928, for Thornton from L.S. Amery, Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs, to the Governor General and state governments; newspaper cuttings, 1928-1929, referring to departure of boys emigrating from England; plus one cutting from the Vancouver Morning Sun, n.d., concerning a tour in Canada. This material is located on microfilm reel A-1646.
