Allan Detlor collected letters, certificates and other documents from municipal officials and other persons met during his hiking tours in Canada and the United States during the 1920s and 1930s, plus a wide range of other autographed ephemera. These included excised signature panels, plus inscribed photographs and postcards, some of which were pasted into a small album with stamps, medals, poetry and geneaological notes on the Detlor family (file 5). The only order discernable in the collection is alphabetical arrangement of the documents in files 3-4 by place of origin.

Detlor, Allen, fl. 1872-1935 : Allen Detlor, of Elm Tree, Ontario, was an avid autograph collector. In 1934 he embarked upon a walking trip to Chicago to visit the World's Fair. He collected autographs all along his journey and at his destination.
