Cochrane, Thomas John, Sir, 1789-1872 : Sir Thomas John Cochrane 1789-1872, Admiral of the Fleet, was Governor of Newfoundland, 1825-1834. Sir Thomas was the eldest son of the Honourable Sir Alexander Forrester Inglis Cochrane (1758-1832) who was Commander-in-Chief of the North American Station, 1814-1815.
