Pritchard, John, 1777-1856 : John Pritchard joined the XY Company in 1801 and remained after the merger with the North West Company. He attemped to retire in 1814 and settle at Red River, but was prevented. The next year he gave warning to Governor Miles Macdonell of the troubles brewing with the North West Company and was named to the Council of Assinoboia. He settled at Red River in 1820.
