This film is an account by veterans of the Lincoln Brigade of their experiences in the Spanish Civil War. The Lincoln Brigade was a division of American soldiers in the International Volunteer Army, which fought for the Loyalist side in the war. The veterans describe why they fought, how American isolationism affected their morale, and the fight against fascism in Europe and its leaders, Franco, Mussolini and Hitler. The film features archival footage and interviews with the veterans.
