Adye, Ralph Willett, died 1808 : Capt. Ralph Willett Adye was commissioned in the Royal Artillery as a Second Lieutenant in 1781 and served for 27 years until his death. Adye was the author of the "Pocket Gunner and Bobmardier", first published in the 1790's which became a standard reference work, through successive editions, for nearly three decades.
