Fonds consists of contemporary copies of legal documents pertaining to the sale of the fishing company and estate of François Levesque. Included are an order by Henry Rimphoff to Catherine Desaunier Beaubien, widow of Levesque, to produce a list of debtors to Levesque's company which Rimphoff had purchased 17 July 1790; deed of sale of the company to Rimphoff, 19 August 1788; and a list of buildings, vessels and other effects belonging to the fishing port of Bonaventure, formerly part of the property of Levesque and James Curchad of Quebec, n.d.

Levesque, François, fl. 1763-1787 : François Levesque, merchant, (fl. 1763-1787) came to Canada from France in 1763. He became a prominent Quebec merchant and fur trader. In 1775 he was appointed a Member of the Legislative and Executive Councils.
