Fonds consists of conventions; minutes; national office administrative records; organizations; projects and activities in Canada; projects and activities in Israel; publications and scrapbooks. Additional records received from the national office headquarters of the Hadassah-WIZO Organization of Canada. This accession consists of four series of records relating to: 1) proceedings of national and regional conventions and missions to Israel; 2) the office of the national president; 3) the national office's contact and relationship with its councils and chapters across Canada; 4) projects and activities organized and operated by Hadassah-WIZO in Canada and Israel. (Vols. 58-108).

Fonds consists of sound recordings of historical recollections and proceedings of meetings and banquets, including the proceedings of the 21st National Biennial Convention of Hadassah-Wizo Organization of Canada, held at the Royal York, Toronto, Ontario, 1963-1966.

Fonds includes one architectural drawing, 1974, of Maalot M.D.A. building. There are also architectural items for projects in Israel.

Fonds consists of photographs, 1929-1977, that depict activities organized and operated by Hadassaah-WIZO in Canada and Israel including project for international aid and support to disaster areas in the world such as Turkey, Peru, Nepal, Cambodge, Nigeria, and Ghana.

Hadassah-WIZO Organization of Canada : Canadian Hadassah-WIZO is Canada's leading organization of Jewish women. Its 17,000 members are organized in 304 chapters in 55 cities and towns. The organization's aims are to support needy individuals in Hadassah-WIZO institutions in Israel; to strengthen and foster Jewish ideals and to encourage Jewish and Hebrew culture in Canada; to extend material and moral support of the Jewish women of Canada to the people of Israel requiring such assistance; and to cooperate with other organizations in the promotion of Canadian ideals of democracy.

Canadian Hadassah-WIZO was founded during World War I to aid refugees in Eastern Europe. The first chapter was organized in October 1916. In 1919 several Zionist women's societies combined to form the Hadassah Organization of Canada. That same year the youth arm, Junior Hadassah was formed. In 1920 it affiliated with the Women's International Zionist Organization (WIZO), a non-political organization with branches in 50 countries on five continents. Canadian Hadassah-WIZO was previously affiliated with the Zionist Organization of Canada, and in 1967 it became an affiliate of the Canadian Zionist Federation.

Some of Canadian Hadassah-WIZO major projects have been: sponsorship of the Agricultural and Secondary School at Nahalal in 1926; providing aid for the rescue of thousands of European and Oriental refugee children and their resettlement in Israel, during and after World War II; the building of educational institutions and hospitals in Israel; support for medical research; and the provision of educational, support services, as well as cultural programs to Canadian and Israeli women and children.
