Mason, John, fl. 1812-1815 : John Mason began his military career with the United States Army in Kentucky. Active during the War of 1812, he received his first major appointment in the US Army on 20 May, 1813. He was appointed to Lieutenant of the 28th Infantry. He was then appointed to Captain on 18 January 1815. Shortly after his last appointment as Captain, he was granted an honourable discharge on 15 June, 1815.
