Fonds consists of fourteen pieces of business correspondence from Governor William Mactavish at Fort Garry to Lawrence Clarke, Chief trader at Carlton House, 1866-1869, 37 pages. They discuss shipping and receipt of provisions and improvement of transportation facilities between Fort Garry and several trading depots further to the north west (Fort à la Corne, Carlton House, Green Lake and English River). Also included, one letter from Mactavish to Clarke at Fort à la Corne - same subject, 5 October 1869; and one list of freight for forts in Saskatchewan for Clarke endorsed as from Governor Mactavish, 9 November 1869, 37 pages.
