Fonds consists of minutes of executive meetings, February, 1943, as well as correspondence, 1938-1967, and radio scripts, 1939-1965, of the First Slovak Radio Club in Canada. Also included are newspaper clippings, n.d., 1945-1966, and publications, n.d., 1962-1964, relating to Slovak life in Canada; agreements signed by the club with local radio stations, 1958-1959, 1961-1963.

The fonds contains photographs of various members, announcers, directors, and producers in the First Slovak Radio Club in Canada, [ca.1938-1955].

The fonds also contains recordings in Slovak of radio programs broadcast by CJRN, Niagara Falls, 1952-1965.

First Slovak Radio Club in Canada : The First Slovak Radio Club in Canada was organized in December, 1938, to keep alive among Slovaks in Ontario the songs, music and traditions of the homeland. Its weekly programs were broadcast, first, from CKTB, St. Catharines, Ont. and after 1953 from CHVC, Niagara Falls, Ont. The club dissolved in 1965, because it could no longer meet its broadcasting expenses.
