United Council of Filipino Associations in Canada : Although an earlier organization of the same name was established in 1964, in Vancouver, B.C., the present Council dates from 1971. Its purpose is to serve as a national voice for Filipinos in Canada, as a link between local constituent groups and the Filipino and Canadian governments, and to emphasize the role of Filipinos in a developing multicultural society.
