Collection consists of an Order of the Board of Trade and Plantations for consideration of the petition of Samuel Waldo, Francis Waldo, Isaac and Lucy Winslow,and Thomas and Hannah Flucker of Boston for confirmation of a grant of land on the Penobscot and St.Croix rivers made by the Massachusetts Bay colony in 1762, dated 1764, 2 pages, with an annexed copy of the petition, signed by W. Bollan as agent, 10 pages. The petition provides a history of settlement in the region and recapitulates some of the services rendered by Samuel Waldo and his family.

Waldo, Samuel, fl. 1760-1765 : Samuel Waldo, Jr., (fl. 1760-1765), his brother Francis, and his sisters Lucy Winslow and Hannah Flucker were the children of Samuel Waldo, a native of Boston with interests in the settlement of the Sagadhoc Region. Samuel Waldo, Sr.(fl. 1740-1750), had raised and led a regiment in the Nova Scotia Campaign of 1745. His children were granted a tract on the Penobscot and St. Croix rivers by the Massachusetts government in 1762.
