Humanities Association of Canada : The Humanities Association of Canada, established in 1951, fosters interest in the humanities and promotes teaching and research in languages, literature, history and philosophy. The Humanities Association, not to be confused with the Humanities Research Council, brings together those who are interested in the cultural aspects of education, especially those who feel the humanities have not had a sufficiently powerful impact. The Association attempts to stimulate scholars to undertake research for its own sake and as means of adding new dimensions to teaching careers.
