Fonds consists of diaries kept by Robery Hunt while serving as a missionary with the Church Missionary Society in South America, 1844-1845, and at Lac La Ronge and English River in Rupert's Land, 1849-1861, together with three letters received by Hunt, 1845-1846.

Hunt, Robert, fl. 1844-1861 : Robert Hunt was a reverend and missionary in Canada and abroad. He served as a missionary with the Church Missionary Society in South America in 1844 and 1845, and at Lac La Ronge and English River in Rupert's Land from 1849 to 1861. Rev. Hunt and his wife arrived at Lac La Ronge, Saskatchewan in 1848 and it was then established as a permanent mission. In 1859, under Rev. Hunt's direction, Holy Trinity Church was built on the east shore of Mountain Lake, Saskatchewan. Rev. Hunt was also in charge of Stanley Mission in Saskatchewan.
