Mesplet, Fleury, 1735-1794 : Fleury Mesplet was a printer and editor. He emigrated from France to London in 1773 and to Philadephia in 1774. After joining the American commission he was sent to Quebec in 1776; he decided to remain and became the first printer-publisher at Montreal, the founder of the Gazette.
