Vibert, John, b. 1827 : John Vibert was a native of St. Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands, whose family later moved to the Gaspé region of Québec. He served as mate and ultimately as Captain of sailing vessels plying the trans-Atlantic triangular trade.

Transcript received in 1979 from Dr. Pimm of Coral Gables, Fla.
The original was said to be in the "Archives, Ottawa" and was presumed to be with the papers of Senator Eugene Forsey, but no trace of it has been found there.
