Fonds consists of microfilmed personal correspondence of various members of the Wallbridge family, of Belleville, Upper Canada, chiefly on family affairs, dated 1824 to 1896. Included are a few letters from Lewis Wallbridge (1816-1887), later Solicitor General in the Macdonald - Dorion administration and Chief Justice of Manitoba, 1882-1887, to his sister, Mrs. H.E. Howard (née Marianne Wallbridge), in which the Rebellion of 1837 is briefly mentioned. This material is located on microfilm reel M-783. There are a few photographs and a genealogical sketch of the Wallbridge family.

Wallbridge (family) : The Wallbridge family were among the first settlers to Belleville, Ontario, and surrounding area in the late eighteenth century. The family later became involved in law and administrative affairs of Canada.
