Fonds consists of a bound typescript account by Alice Fitzpatrick entitled, "The May Court Club of Ottawa and the War, 1919". It contains a list of members and describes the regular work of the Club as well as the work undertaken as a result of World War I.

May Court Club : On 30 April 1898, Lady Aberdeen invited over 100 women to participate in May Day celebrations at Government House. Out of these celebrations came the formation of the first May Court Club in Ottawa, created for both social and charitable purposes. Three committees were created: Relief Committee, Literacy Committee and the Room Committee. During World War I, they were involved in such volunteer activities as the cutting and basting of garments, the creation of a work depot and an employment bureau for women, and a program for visiting soldiers' families to assist them. The May Court Club was incorporated in 1918, and affiliated to the National Council of Women of Canada.
