Petawawa Fish and Game Club : The Petawawa Fish and Game Club was organized at the first annual meeting, which was held on 27 February 1909. The club was formed in order to provide its members with opportunities for fishing and hunting on the Department of National Defence land in the neighbourhood of Petawawa and to aid in the enforcement of the laws and regulations for the protection of fish and game in the Province of Ontario.

The club is situated about 130 miles from Ottawa, on Cartier Lake in the Petawawa Military Camp Area.
