Ontario Amateur Lacrosse Association : The Ontario Amateur Lacrosse Association, formerly the Ontario Lacrosse Association, was organized in March 1913 under the auspices of the Canadian Amateur Lacrosse Association, formerly the Canadian Lacrosse Association. It held absolute jurisdiction over amateur lacrosse for the Province of Ontario and, as such, set the rules for competition in Ontario and defined and set criteria for the term "amateur. The O.A.L.A. also worked to improve, foster and perpetuate the game of lacrosse as the National Game of Canada and arranged and supervised the competition for the Association championship.
