Von Zur-Muhlen, 1976 and the Association of Universities and College briefs to the Prime Minister in 1968 and 1973.Additional name(s):Biography/Administrative history:Commission of Enquiry on Graduate Studies in the Humanities and the Social Sciences : In January 1974, the Canada Council set up a commission to inquire into the state of graduate studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences. It was headed by Dr. Denis Healy who was assisted by Dr. Blair Neatby and Dr. Léon Dion.
The commission was to inquire into and examine graduate studies, particularly at the doctorate level. It was in particular to examine trends in graduate studies and make assessments of future needs and prospects of various fields of study. These fields of study were to be examined in the light of student expectations, the development of Canadian universities, advanced research and employment opportunities for graduates.
